PERCY GRAINGER
( George Aldridge Grainger 1882–1961 )
Percy Grainger was an Australian who lived life intensely , he was gifted in many areas . Famously known for Country Gardens . From his early days he had an interest in SADOMASOCHISM , from a cursory glance it appears this interest went way beyond adult spanking . We have seen , some time ago , material which may be of interest . If we can locate it , it will be placed here . No doubt the National Library exhibition will touch on this aspect of Grainger's life .

There is a wonderful quotation from a letter written by the composer Percy Grainger to a friend on reading a book called The History of the Rod ( one of those books that purported to be ‘ serious ’ discussion of the subject ) :
" Yesterday I bought a book entitled " The History of the Rod " , dealing with the use of the whip in all countries and times . Seldom in my life have I gone through such a lecherous day as yesterday . My head ached , eyes burnt , body shook , of the excitement of reading what people have invented in my greatest speciality ... "
